Conjuring Oil palm tree Waste Products into Fertilizers with Bio Slurry

Lampung is the province with a vast area of oil palm tree plantation. A total area of 196,433 hectares of oil palm tree plantation have been managed by public, private sectors, and State-owned Enterprises. Total production of these oil palm tree pantations are 395,713 tons (Lampung Provincial Statistics, 2013). With such amount of production level, the abundance of waste products have been a challenge for the management.

“The Journey to 15,000 Domestic Biogas”

Located at Pangalengan Bus Station, West Java, on December 20, 2015, an event entitled “The Journey to 15,000 Domestic Biogas” has been successfully organized. Hundreds of farmers and cattle farmers attended this event. This event is a celebration to the achievement of Domestic Biogas (BIRU) 15,000th user, and at the same time an arena to introduce biogas operations and a booth to exhibit biogas installation.

BBC Indonesia Journalist Report on Biogas from Lembang, West Java

Couple time ago, BIRU had welcomed special guests from the British Broadcasting Corporation, or better known as the BBC. Ging Ginanjar, a field reporter of BBC Indonesia which plans to cover BIRU story within the rubric of the environment in their reporting. On the agreed day, we departed from Jakarta to Lembang, West Java. Pact to meet at the Pasteur toll gate, we went straight to the location which was quite far from where we met.

BIRU Program Greets Banten

Based on BPS Banten record, the population of cattle in this province reached 1,570,413 in 2012, consist of cows, buffaloes, goats and pigs. This opportunity has led BIRU program to expand the work area in the province of Banten and choose PINBUK Banten as one builder partners (CPO). PINBUK leadership Banten, Moeljadi, said, "Banten has great potential for this program (BIRU), we need to facilitate the farmer community in Banten to be able to access the biogas reactor construction."

Local Stakeholders Consultation Meeting 2015

Considering the importance of this new dimension of the carbon component of Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme, and supplementary to the Local Stakeholder Consultation that has been conducted on 16 February 2012, the programme plans to conduct the stakeholder consultation meeting that BIRU will host on Friday, March 20th 2015 at Arion Swiss Belhotel, Jakarta.
