Yayasan Berkelanjutan Lingkungan dan Sumber Daya (YSLPP)
The Foundation for Sustainable Environment and Resources (YSLPP) was established on 2nd March 1994 based on the initiatives of Care International Indonesia and former staff of Care International NTB (West Nusa Tenggara) to create a non-profit organization to address issues in the community which have been categorized as Agricultural and Forestry Program; Marine Program; Public Health Program and; Micro Economic Development Program. The NGO publishes ISAH magazine, Keluarga Sakinah Comics and various brochures. They work together with various fund resources such as KEHATI, provincial and regional development planning agencies, Starburg Coffee Canada and CRS to increase Indonesian citizens' quality of life based on its principles of self-reliance and self-supporting.
Hivos' domestic biogas program is still in line with the YSLPP's principles and interests. BIRU's Biogas digester unit has proven itself to be significantly beneficial to reducing time and effort spent on collecting wood as well as respiratory related diseases to traditional methods of cooking, and develops micro household businesses – a chance for women powerment and alternative source of income. The BIRU program enables them to cultivate resources on the ready and maintain environmentally friendly agricultural practices to make sure that they are sustainable for future generations to come.
