Farmers and Fishermen Services Secretariat of World Food Day (SPTN-HPS) is a nonprofit organization which aims to provide sustainable agriculture as the gateway towards sustainable rural environment. SPTN-HPS was established in 1992 as a follow up of the Ganjuran Declaration in October 1990. SPTN-HPS works towards sustainable farming and fishery services as well as sustainable rural environment development; to achieve sustainable environmentally friendly environments and community, economically affordable, rooted in local culture and social justice.
Main activities of the SPTN-HPS encompasses sustainable organic agricultural development – to meet the evergrowing demands of trending modern day organic diet, organizational/community supported agricultural development – develop a culture for subscription to a local farmer's seasonal produce each week during harvest season, rural economic development – advancement of farmers' welfare and living conditions, as well as networking. Among SPTN-HPS' main network on a nationwide scope are Indonesian Organic Agriculture Network (JakerPO) and Indonesian Organic Alliance (AOI). Meanwhile, this organization also nurtures international relations with the Federation Internationale Des Mouvements d'Adultes Ruraux Catholiques (FIMARC) and International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM).
