KUD Tani Makmur
Tani Makmur Village Cooperative Unit (KUD) was established on 12th February 1980 upon the idea that, the members of the Coffee Farmers Association are obliged to store a minimum of 1kg of coffee, in every summer of the year. Their business scope covers agriculture, plantation and dairy cattle farming. On the 63rd Cooperative Day 12th of July 2010, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono awarded KUD Tani Makmur as the National Achieving Cooperative in the Producer Category due to their significant amount of assets of Rp. 1.372.616.950 in the producer division.
In conjunction with PT. Nestle Indonesia, the cooperative was able to participate in the soft loan credit program that they offer in partnership with the BIRU program for the installation of a BIRU biogas digester unit. The unit conveniently contributes toward the business scope of the Tani Makmur Village Cooperative Unit - cost effective and environmentally friendly in numerous ways. Not only does the biogas unit reduce pollution, but it develops and transforms manure into gas, electricity, bio-slurry – all which can uphold daily household needs - with a minimum requirement of 3 cows.
