liputan6.com -PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has delivered its commitment to support the development of new and renewable source of energy launched by the government, in which one of them is through biogas development as local source of energy for the community. Such support is realised in the form of 10 biogas reactor development with capacities ranging from 6-12 cubic meters in Jetak Village, Getasan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency, Central Java.
As many as 137 existing household users will receive subsidy from PGN, thus Domestic Biogas Programme (BIRU) may continue and the utilisation of local energy will be evenly distributed.
Biogas promotor of Jetak Village, Yusmin Sunaryo, said that the presence of PGN is greatly welcome by the Government and people at Jetak Village. Much more than that, the enhancement of Jetak Village as an Energy Independent Village, through PGN is believed to come into reality in the near future.
“The presence of biogas reactor brought in by PGN is hugely beneficial for our community, in which the programme was originally launched on 2009 and immediately implemented, although it was temporarily suspended in 2016. We are convinced the presence of PGN will discover the potential of Jetak Village even more, which will subsequently lead the community to even greater prosperity,” Yuusmin said during Jetak Expo event in Jetak Village, Semarang Regency, Saturday (12/9/2017).
Beyond generating biogas, he added, PGN also encouarged the community to discover other potentials, which include among others is pioneering a bioslurry-based organic fertilisers, that is biogas applied on chilli, vegetable, and fruit crops. The use of this fertilisers is expected to improve the prosperity of the community.
Jetak Village is also a potential village as the pioneer of Pancasila Tourism Destination Village which is expected to promote the development and improve the prosperity of the community. One of the potentials is by acting as the early adopter of local biogas energy as the source of energy in fulfilling the daily community needs since 2009.
“Assistance provided by PGN comes not only in the introduction of biogas reactor, but also the initiation by PGN on educational media regarding the development of biogas such as biogas installation, biogas infographic, and animation showing how biogas works, thus visitors to Jetak Village will finally be able to absorb information about biogas,” Yusmin said.
