industry.co.id - Jakarta -PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) builds 10 biogas reactors with a capacity ranging between 6-12 cubic meters in Semarang, Central Java. As many as 137 existing domestic biogas users will receive subsidy from PGN thus Domestic Biogas Programme (BIRU) may continue and utilisation of local energy may evenly be distributed.
“Through PGN, the enhancement of Jetak Village as an Independent Village Energy, we are convinced that it may come true in the near future,” Biogas Promotor for Jetak Village, Yusmin Sunaryo, said.
According to Yusmin, biogas reactor introduced by PGN brings in plenty benefit to the community, in which the programme launched in 2009 were immediately realised although it was temporarily suspended in 2016. “We are convinced that the presence of PGN, the potentials held by Jetak Village will be discovered even more thus enable to lead the community to greater prosperity,” he explained.
PGN also encouraged the community to develop other potentials, such as pioneering the utilisation of organic fertilisers with bioslurry biogas as the raw materials, applicable to such crops as chilli, vegetable, and fruits, thus enable the community to enjoy higher level of prosperity.
Meanwhile the Head Sales Area of PGN Semarang, Heri Frastiono, hopes that the support will make the community even more passionate to consistently develop the potentials of their village, contributing to the progress of their village thus the dream to be an independent village will come true.
“The support of PGN for biogas development is expected to be an energy which will be able to inspire the growth and development of various potentials of the village, both directly or indirectly realted with energy supply, thus enable the community to enjoy even greater prosperity,” Heri said.
Today, PGN has built and operate an infrastructure of gas pipeline covering a distance of more than 7,450 km or equivalent with 80% of total length of upstream natural gas pipeline nationally. Through such an infrastructure, PGN has supplied more than 1,658 large scale industries and power plants, more than 1,984 commercial customers, and 177,710 users’ households.
The consumers of PGN are scattered throughout 19 regencies/municipalities in 12 provinces, which cover among others North Sumatra, Riau Archipelago, Riau, South Sumatra, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Central Java, East Java, North Kalimatan, and Sorong, Papua.
