economy.okezone.com - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) builds 10 biogas reactors with capacities ranging between 6 to 12 cubic meters at Jetak Village, Getasan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency, Central Java.
Therefore, PGN so far has provided subsidy to 137 houesholds of biogas users, thus enable Domestic Biogas Programme (BIRU) to continue and the utilisation of local energy to be evenly distributed.
The biogas promotor of Jetak Village, Yusmin Sunaryo, stated that those 10 biogas reactors enable the support for Jetak Village as an Energy Independent Village. The reason, is the programme which was launched on 2009 was temporarily suspended in 2016.
“To support the development of biogas reactor, a biogas installation development has also been provided, biogas infographic, as well as animation showing how a biogas works thus the general public vising Jetak Village may receive information on biogas,” explained Yusmin as excerpted from his written statement, Sunday (12/10/2017).
Jetak Village, according to him, holds the potential as the Pancasila Pioneer Tourist Destination Village in which he hopes it will be able to enhance the progress and prosperity of the people. One of the potentials is the fact that it is the early adopter of local biogas energy utilisation as the source of energy in fulfilling the daily needs of the people since 2009.
Today, PGN has built and operate gas pipeline infrastructure which extends more than 7,450 km or equivalent to 80% of total upstream natural gas pipeline nationally.
Through such infrastructure, PGN has supplied more than 1,658 large industries and power plant, more than 1,984 commercial customers, and 177,710 household users.
PGN consumers are scattered throughout 19 regencies/municipalities in 12 provinces, which include among others North Sumatra, Riau Archipelago, Riau, South Sumatra, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Central Java, East Java, North Kalimantan, and Sorong, Papua. (ulf)
