petroenergy.id – Introduction, benefits, and advantages of New and Renewable Energy Technology have been organised by HiVOS and Rumah Energi in a talk show entitled ‘Mengenal Energi Terbarukan’ on 2017 Bogor Young Scientist Fair activity organised by JungleLand Adventure Theme Park in Sentul, Bogor, on August 14, 2017.
In line with the theme of Bogor Young Scientist Fair activity, the New and Renewable Energy HiVOS and Rumah Energi have launched a campaign with a mission of renewable energy and energy conservation paradigm based future among secondary school students or youth. During the event, the can learn about various types of New and Renewable Energy such as wind power, hydropower, geothermal, biomass, sea wave power, and biogas.
HiVOS in particular, socialised the ongoing Sumba Iconic Programme in Sumba Island, East Nusa Tenggara. Meanwhile, Rumah Energi socialises the BIRU programme which promotes the use of biogas, starting from the operational methods, maintenance, biogas installation, and supporting tools such as stoves, lighting, rice cooker, water heater, grass chopping machine, and biogas energy.
Beyond the biogas, the biogas slurry has also provided the benefits of ready to use organic fertilisers, organic pesticides, vermi culture media and fungi culture media, and so foth. Organic fertilisers produced by bio-slurry is available to market, thus users may earn additional income.
Approximately, 73% of BIRU users have actively utilised biogas slurry as fertilisers for their farming grounds, compost mixture, and for sale purposes (Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme User Survey, December 2016, HiVOS). BIRU users may enjoy multiple benefits from the biogas existence and are expected to become stimulants for biogas sector development in line with the mission of Rumah Energi.
By conveying such knowledge, HiVOS and Rumah Energi expect to resonate of utilising the new and renewable energy to students, thus they will contribute to overcome the issues relevant with energy through creativities and innovations to achieve energy independence.
BIRU Programme is the iniatives of HiVOS and SNV (Netherlands Development Organisation) implemented by HiVOS and Rumah Energi, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The programme receives supports from the Government of Netherlands, the Embassy of Noway, Energising’ Development (EnDev) programme and MCAI (Millenium Challenge Account Indonesia and their local partners in Indonesia.
BIRU Programme is the true embodiment of renewable energy sector development through sustainable approach. This is performed to create market-based sector which will serve the potential biogas users that is approximately 2 million households of cattle farmers in Indonesia (adi)
