
Rakyatku.com, North Luwu – The Regent of North Luwu, Indah Putri Indriani, officially launched the utilisation of 30 units of domestic biogas (BIRU) at Muktisari Village, Bone-bone Subdistrict, on Monday (5/23/2016).
“Domestic Biogas Programme (BIRU) has been launched at North Luwu Regency since 2015 and 30 units of biogas digester has been constructed in 5 villages scattered throughout 3 subdistricts namely Bone-bone, Mappedeceng, and Sukamaju subdistricts,” Indah said.
The constructed biogas digesters have a 4 cubic meter (4 m3) capacity. The digester is anticipated to produce a total of 1.2 m3 daily gas production or equivalent to 0.55 kg of LPG.
This programme has been successfully carried out due to the sound collaboration with the Office of Energy and Mineral Resources of South Sulawesi Province and Funding Agency of the Netherland, namely HIVOS.
“In the future, the Local Government of North Luwu plans to carry out similar collaboration through a direct collaboration with the funding agency (HIVOS) signified by the signing of MOU between the Regency of North Luwu and HIVOS,” she said.
