Sumbawa Besar, Gaung NTB – Domestic Biogas (BIRU) Program is soon to be developed at Sumbawa Regency. This program is a collaboration between the Government of Indonesia and the Netherland which is implemented through the Directorateg General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (DJEBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as the representative of Indonesia and HIVOS Regional Office Southeast Asia (ROSEA) as the representative of the Netherland supported by SNV Netherland, as the technical advisor.

POS-KUPANG.COM, TAMBOLAKA - Society of Tambolaka, capital of Southwest Sumba (SBD) Regency, has started to leave kerosene for cooking. They shift to biogas for its economical reason. In present they do not have to buy kerosene; they only need to switch their gas stoves supplied by heat energy from animals' dung like pigs', buffaloes', cows', even humans' instead.

Pasuruan - Endang Hariyanto, a housewife in Gendro village, Tutur (Nongkojajar) subdistrict, Pasuruan District, lightened up after using alternative energy biogas for her cooking needs, lightings and water heater at home.

Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) tengah menyiapkan petunjuk teknis (juknis) pelaksanaan pengembangan Desa Mandiri Energi (DME) berbasis biogas, yang akan diimplementasikan mulai 2013 melalui pendanaan Dana Alokasi Khusus (DAK).
